Our Founders
Brian Kucic’s vision was to establish a company that would better serve commercial clients with their HPC needs. This vision led to the creation of a company—R Systems—that is dedicated to serving research partners in a demanding business environment. Presently, as Business Principal, Brian is responsible for the management of all business activities related to sales, customer relations, and project contracts. Brian’s experience and data center management skills ensure that all business activities are targeted for results, added benefits, and performance reliability for all of R Systems’ customers. Prior to R Systems, Brian served as the Private Sector Program Director at The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois. From 1999-2003, Brian served as the Cray User Group Operations Chair. He currently serves on Microsoft’s Partner Advisory Board and on the Alliance for High Performance Digital Manufacturing (AHPDM) chaired by Intel’s Dr. Stephen Wheat. Brian graduated from Western Illinois University’s School of Engineering in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He is an avid motorsports fan and has not missed an Indianapolis 500 in decades and highlights the Austin / US Grand Prix as an Annual “Must See.”
Greg Keller co-founded R Systems as the Technical Principal and is the catalyst in the leadership team, driving strategic hardware deployment and related technology solutions to meet the current and future needs of our customers. Prior to founding R Systems, Greg worked with Dell Computer, designing and deploying the fastest computers in the High Performance Computing world. In 2003, Dell and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications built Tungsten, the 4th fastest computer with the fastest File System in the world. He continues to keep R Systems at the leading edge to make comprehensive products and solutions available to our customers. Greg graduated from Loyola University’s School of Business in 2000 with degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Management/Human Resources. Greg is a FAA Licensed Private Pilot. When he is not flying on the weekends, Greg and his family are often seen riding a “QuadraCycle” through Austin.
